CFP talks for Sync Conf
We’ve selected four talks from 34 submissions to our CFP.
Huge thanks to everyone who submitted a talk; it was honestly agonizing to choose between these excellent submissions.
The talks
Brendan O'Brien (number 0 / Iroh) will show us the possibility of internet-optional sync using device-to-device connections. True peer-to-peer networking has remained elusive but they claim to have cracked it with their now widely-deployed Rust library.
Conrad Hofmeyr (PowerSync) covers one of our favorite topics: SQLite, and the latest on using it in your client-side web app. PowerSync has written many excellent blog posts going deep on SQLite for the web, so they can speak with authority on this.
Anselm Eickhoff (Garden Computing / Jazz) will help us grapple with the question of when our sync systems become a full-fledged database. Anselm's talks at Local-First Conf have always been crowd-pleasers, so he's sure to delight at Sync Conf.
Irakli Gozalishvili and Chris Joel (independent researchers) will show us reactive UIs built with declarative Datalog rules, and syncing through commodity blob stores (S3, R2, IPFS) without coordination servers. Most of our other talks are focused on commercial use cases, so great to get this more research-oriented perspective in the mix.
