A high bar for craft

Dive deeper on the vision for Sync Conf 2025 with James Arthur and Adam Wiggins:

A few notable quotes…

Johannes:

The bar is constantly rising on the baseline expectation of a consumer using an app. It needs to be dynamic, it needs to be fast, it needs to have a mobile app.

Linear has normalized high quality expectations. So has Figma, Notion, et cetera. So the next generation of apps now have this high expectation for quality.

I think the only way how we can get there is to use sync engine technologies.

Adam:

I see it as a big tent. It’s awesome people come to this technology for many different reasons.

Some are here for the pragmatic benefit of the simplified stack and better DX. Others care more about user empowerment and data ownership. But we all can come together and build a coalition to expand the reach of this way of building software.

James:

At the conference we hope for a cross-pollination between sync engine and local-first builders, devs creating agentic systems, devs creating multiplayer systems at scale, and simply local-first-curious.

I don’t see it as "come to the conference to find out how it's all done." But instead: "come to the conference and let's figure it out together."

Go have a listen.

P.S. Earlybird tickets are sold out, but normal birds are still on sale.
