September Book Review
Passons in Death by J.D. Robb - 5 Stars
This is #59 in the In Death series and I am still completely in love with this series. Not only is each one an interesting murder investigation but I come back book after book for the characters. It’s like checking in on friends to see what’s been going on since we last saw each other.
West with Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge - 4.5 Stars
This was a book club selection. I wasn’t too sure about it but once I got into the book it was great. Rutledge took a true event, driving 2 giraffes across the US in the 1940s, and turned it into a fictional coming of age story.
Again the Magic by Lisa Kleypas - 4 Stars
This was my 12 Months, 12 Tropes pick for September’s trope Second Chance. This is a prequel to her Wallflower series which I read years ago. I enjoyed this back story to a MMC’s sisters and their love stories.
A word on the ARC I just finished last night:
It was bad, I hate read it because I needed to know where it was going. The characters were one dimensional, the love story was basically non existent and the sex scenes made me cringe. Let’s not even talk about how many times I rolled my eyes. The ending also left me with so many questions.
I hate leaving bad reviews on ARCs. So I went to go see what others were saying and it’s either reviews similar to mine or people loved it and I want to be like REALLY!?
Then I have to remind myself of Ranganathan’s Five Laws and specifically: Every book its reader.
