Little Thoughts About ... Issue #27
March Wrap Up

Trying a little bit of a new format for my recap image. This way you can see everything I read or listened to.
I read three ARCs:
-The Strawberry Patch Pancake House (Dream Harbor #4) by Laurie Gilmore
I shared my review of this in an earlier issue of the newsletter. This was my favorite book so far in the series!
-Jane Austen’s Bookshelf by Rebecca Romney
I didn’t write a review for this book but I did enjoy it. My JASNA Region read this as a book discussion and then had a talk with the author.
-Wild and Wrangled (Rebel Blue Ranch #4) by Lyla Sage
My review for this book comes out next week the day before the book is released. I’m sad to see this series end as I really enjoyed it, but Sage does a great job with this last love story and wrapping everything up.
Reading Challenges:
-Read Books By/About Puerto Ricans - Short Stories - Reclaiming Medusa edited by Diana Velez
This was an interesting collection but I feel I missed something in translation.
-Keyword Reading Challenge - Little - So Many Beginnings: A Little Women Remix (Remixed Classics #2) by Bethany C. Morrow
I really enjoyed this take on the story. It was remixed to be a former slave family and their experience at the same time as the original story. I learned some things that were left out of my history lessons. I liked the changes that were made and felt that we still got the loving story of four sisters and how they grow apart, yet together.
-Color Coded Reading Challenge - Yellow - Daughter of Fire by Sofia Robleda
I think I picked this as an Amazon First Read, and the cover caught my eye when I was looking for a title with yellow or a cover with yellow as the primary color. Like with So Many Beginnings I learned some history while reading this book, this time the history of Guatemala. I felt it dragged a little bit, but the Catalina is such a strong character I had to keep reading to finish her story.
Other Readings:
-Rock, Paper, Scissors, Love, Death by Caroline M. Yoachim, read by Wil Wheaton
I love listening to podcasts and one of my favorites was LeVar Burton Reads. When it ended, I knew not only would my reading count suffer (yes I track those episodes) but I’d miss having someone read me stories. Well Wil Wheaton has filled that void with It’s Storytime with Wil Wheaton. This first story was interesting story of love and time travel.
-On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century by Timothy Snyder
This was a reread for me and one I think everyone should read at least once.
Happy Reading!
