Little Thoughts About ... Issue #13
More slow to post
Another long gap in issues. I am really trying to do this every other week, but then something comes up and I forget and then weeks go by. But I have been reading and I’m still behind in my reading goal for the year! Even listening to the LeVar Burton Reads podcast which I’m not including in these issues but are counting towards my reading goal.
What I Finished Reading
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid - 4 Stars
I really enjoyed this book more so than I thought I would after reading the book blurb.A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon by Sarah Hawley - 4.5 Stars
This book was picked for the 12 Months, 12 Tropes Challenge but I ended up reading another book as this was checked out. I really enjoyed it and now I have another new series to read!Burn by Linda Howard - 3 Stars
This was picked for the 12 Months, 12 Tropes Challenge - Only one bed. It’s an old school romance and a typical Linda Howard book.Wishtree by Katherine Applegate - 4 Stars
Picked this up after it was canceled as a district read because the oak tree mentions that it can be a he or a she. This was a wonderful book. The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Marina Zapata - 4 Stars
This book was picked for the 12 Months, 12 Tropes Challenge - Touch her and die. This was a super slow burn which I was okay with, but the story itself kinda of dragged.Movie Star: They Always Say They’re Single by Jessica Simpson - 4 Stars
As I said above I’m behind in my reading so I looked at what I had on my Kindle and I had a bunch of these First Reads little essays and short stories (next book) that I’m going to start reading. This was a brief essay on a relationship Jessica while her and Nick were broken up before they got married. It was interesting and another eye opening behind the scenes of the industry.Lovers at the Museum: A Short Story by Isabel Allende - 4 Stars
Wonderful short story and Allende is a fantastic author.Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King - 4 Stars
I picked this one up for my library’s reading challenge. I never realized the this was a short story and it was one that I’ve been putting off reading because I thought it was a bigger book. Great book compared to the movie, read some of it in Morgan Freeman’s voice.
