The flickering of a candle
At the threshold's edge, a small lantern is lit, carried by a little black watch
As I write, the candle flickers beside me, signaling its gentle warmth,
like the little black presence at my feet with a heartbeat and warm fur.
This itself is a quiet lantern note; a reminder that even in the dark, in the quiet of evening, we are never alone.

There is something more, something beyond us that keeps the light shining, the candle burning, the beacon searching across the waves.
Wherever this finds you, may you be blessed, and rest in knowing that the night also holds the light.
More tending and writing by candlelight happens at The Scriptorium at the Edge of the World.
