Holidays are coming

First this

This will be the last newsletter of 2024. Thank you to everyone who subscribed, commented, sent me jobs and bought me coffees. Have a good Christmas break and a Happy New Year.

The newsletter will return in 2025.

This is a list I compile on a weekly[1] basis and email to subscribers. I also share the link on Mastodon, Bluesky and LinkedIn.

It's a list of data vacancies in nonprofit organisations that have caught my eye. I don't endorse any of the organisations or roles.

Salaries are usually FTE and usually include London weighting if applicable. This list is very UK focused and even for remote jobs you are likely to need the right to work in the UK.

Now this

Those of you who miss being able to extract and analyse data from Twitter will be delighted to find you can extract and analyse data from Bluesky.

Thinking of buying presents for the data nerd in your life? Chart Spark looks like a good bet. And for the child you would like to grow up to be a data nerd? Try Daphne Draws Data.

My Bluesky feed is 10% pictures of dogs and 90% reposts (reskeets? retweets?) of Rachel Coldicutt. But when she writes stuff like FOMO is not a strategy you can see why.

High quality national statistics turn out to be one of those things that you don't notice until they are gone. This article on the UK's migration figures and this article on long term illness (sorry paywalled) illustrate.

And finally

You can hire me to help you with interesting data projects.
