A very long time ago I worked in amphibian conservation so I’m very pleased to be able to include a role with Newt Conservation Partnership

First this

This is a list I compile on a weekly[1] basis and email to subscribers. I also share the link on Mastodon, Bluesky and LinkedIn.

It's a list of data vacancies in nonprofit organisations that have caught my eye. I don't endorse any of the organisations or roles.

Salaries are usually FTE and usually include London weighting if applicable. This list is very UK focused and even for remote jobs you are likely to need the right to work in the UK.

And now this

When I'm not working with data or representing the people of College, Hereford I write and sing folk songs. So this article analysing folk music from across the world was very much in my bailiwick.

The lovely people at DataKindUK are running an online event on Measuring Progress in the Voluntary Sector. See you there?

I really enjoyed this online session More Than Pretty Graphs: Tips, Tricks, and Resources to Elevate Your Dataviz. If you know what ggplot is then I think you'll get something out of the recording.

Gordon Guthrie has published a fascinating analysis of how the Scottish State should change to respond to and get the best out of digital technology. This overlaps digital, technology and data. The recommendations are quite particular to Scotland but the analysis of the problem space is applicable everywhere.

You can hire me to help you with interesting data projects. I've updated the site with examples of the sort of projects I've delivered.
