Liberation has launched – and it’s now free to download
Hi,
Liberation is now launched - and everyone is talking about it. And what’s more, Liberation is now free to use. You only pay when you’re ready to output to lasers.

That means you can download it, learn it, build shows, rehearse, and explore what next-generation laser software feels like with no barriers. There’s been a real flurry of sign-ups over the last few days from people who’ve been curious to try Liberation, and I’m genuinely excited to see so many new faces coming in.
This change is about one simple idea: it has never been easier to get started with lasers.
Liberation has always been designed to be open, flexible, and future-proof. Making it free to learn and explore removes the biggest friction point for newcomers, students, artists, and anyone who wants to experiment before committing to real-world shows.

The London launch
This change was announced at the Liberation launch event in London, which turned into something really special. People flew in from all over the world, the room was full, the energy was high, and the conversations afterwards reminded me exactly why I started this project in the first place.
During the presentation, I talked through the history of Liberation, where it came from, and where it’s heading next. I also announced libera, a new open-source laser control library. The goal with libera is to make it easier for anyone, now and in the future, to build laser software, tools, and creative systems without being locked into closed ecosystems.
This is a long-term investment in the health of the laser industry, not just Liberation itself.
See you at ISE
If you’re at ISE in Barcelona tomorrow (Thursday), we’ll be there. If you want to say hello, ask questions, or just chat lasers, drop us a message and we’ll work out where to meet.
As always, thank you for being part of this journey - whether you’ve been here since the early builds or you’ve just signed up this week. And if you see new people joining the community, please help make them feel welcome. I’m really proud that this has become one of the kindest and most supportive laser communities out there.
See you soon,
Seb
