Liberation 1.0 – London launch party and a chance to win a year free
Hi everyone,
As we move into 2026, I wanted to personally say thank you and share some exciting Liberation updates.

Last year was incredible. Liberation was used on bigger and more ambitious shows than ever before, including large-scale festival work at Glastonbury (Arcadia’s Dragonfly), an award-winning installation at LDI, and an increasing number of complex, multi-laser productions around the world. It’s been hugely rewarding to see Liberation increasingly trusted on serious, real-world shows.
And now, after years of development, we’ve reached a big milestone. Liberation is officially at version 1.0.

To celebrate, I’m hosting a Liberation launch party in London on Thursday 30 January, and I’d love for you to be there.
The event is free to attend and open to everyone, users and non-users alike. There will be talks and demos, laser arcade games, and plenty of time to chat over a drink. If you can’t make it in person, the evening will be filmed and shared afterwards.
Launch party information and registration
Liberation was built from the outset around a clear set of principles: that laser software can be cross-platform, hardware-agnostic, dependable under pressure, and a creative tool that is genuinely enjoyable to work with. Version 1.0 represents years of development and testing, and now is the time to pause and mark that journey.
Over the last year alone, Liberation has gained a huge number of new features and improvements, including:
Updated clips and effects
An improved timeline workflow with timecode sync
Expanded MIDI controller support
Gradients and richer colour workflows
AVB compatibility, including support for LASollinger lasers
Capture integration for visualisation and pre-production
Performance, stability, and workflow improvements across the board
And that barely scratches the surface.
To mark the launch, I’m also running a competition. Anyone who has ever held a Liberation subscription can enter, and the winner will receive a full year of Liberation completely free. Full details are available on the site.
Whether you’ve been following Liberation from the early days or are just discovering it now, thank you for being part of the journey. I really hope to see you in London at the end of January.
All the best,
Seb
