“Pull your shoulders down, away from your ears.”
I ride my Peloton bike a lot. Several instructors give this reminder throughout your rides. A decent amount of the time, I realize — yup, my shoulders are way too high up. I consciously pull them down. At some point, they creep back up again, and the instructor once more reminds me to, you know, stop doing that.
Sometimes, they tell me to pull my shoulders down and I realize — they’re already down. I’m learning. Slowly. It takes practice.

You already know a ton about sales. But knowing something intellectually and putting it into practice are two different skills. Just as with any athlete, we need reps. The challenge with sales is that practice reps aren’t really a thing; fake sales calls can’t rival the real thing. So your reps are your actual sales calls.
I wish I could join you on every sales call, and give you the silent sales coaching equivalent of telling you to pull your shoulders down, away from your ears. But I can’t do that.
When I can do is offer some advice. Some of that advice, you may have heard before — from me or others. Some of that advice will be brand new.
