New in Lex: Turn Great Chats into Perfect Prompts
Hey! Nathan here, founder of Lex (https://lex.page), the modern writing platform with AI editing tools built in.
When we say we want to hear your feedback, we really mean it.
Last week, we saw this tweet, which said that it would be awesome to be able to turn an AI chat into something you could easily use again whenever you want.
We were inspired by the idea, so we built it in a day.
Here's how it works: When your chat is producing great results, just click "Create Prompt" at the top to save it as a reusable prompt. No technical skills required—all the complexity is handled behind the scenes.
Why this matters: These prompts are way more efficient than working in a super long chat thread—they keep what made the chat work while cutting out the stuff that distracts the AI. Plus, you don't have to waste time tinkering in a chat to rebuild a great process from scratch every time.
Ready to try it? We've already seen people using this for all sorts of things: writing with your voice, email templates, brand style guides, analysis frameworks—or even a custom editing assistant. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
Pro Tip: When you create a prompt this way, click "Edit Prompt" to see the full system prompt—there's more going on behind the scenes than what you see in the chat!
This is just the beginning. We'll be refining this feature over the next couple of weeks to make the experience more polished and make sure the generated prompts capture all the most important details from your chats.
Keep in mind: For best results from your custom prompts, consider Lex Pro. Subscribers get access to our most powerful AI models and the difference in intelligence matters. Don't take our word for it—hit reply to ask for a free trial and see for yourself!
That's all for this week! Thanks for being part of the Lex community :)
