New in Lex: more control over the AI
Hi! It's Nathan from Lex, the AI-powered word processor.
(You're getting this email because you signed up for Lex and are off the waitlist—meaning you can use the product now to speed up your writing!)
Today we're announcing ✨ The Command Bar ✨
Click here to watch a short video about it:
Here's how it works: just hit command+k on mac (or control+k on windows), and the command bar will come up. You can use it to:
- Format text (bold, italic, links, headings, lists, etc)
- Have the AI generate text using a custom prompt
- Have the AI generate text based on what you've highlighted
- More coming soon! (Simplify, expand, generate counter-arguments, etc)
I'm really excited about this—it's a great way to stay on the keyboard and move quickly without having to memorize a long list of hotkeys.
If you have ideas for commands we should include in the command bar, just reply here! I'd love to hear them.
You can use the command bar today in any document at https://lex.page
One more thing—I fixed invites!
Many of you told me that the user interface for getting invite links that you can send to friends to skip the waitlist was quite confusing. I heard you, and fixed it! There's a demo of it at the end of the video above, and you can use it now at https://lex.page.
Thanks so much!
