New in Lex: Longer documents + something mysterious and cool
Hey there! Nathan here, founder and CEO of Lex (https://lex.page), the modern writing tool with powerful AI editing and feedback built in.
A few quick updates for you this week:
We doubled the character limit. In the past, Lex documents could only hold 200,000 characters (~30K words). This week we more than doubled the limit to 450,000 characters (~75K words). That’s enough for a short book! Use it wisely :) Meanwhile, we’ll keep working to increase the limit over time.
We’re releasing an experimental new feature to a select group of users. This tool makes it easy to visualize multiple documents at once, and makes it easier to try new ideas and keep versions organized. If you want to give it a try, just reply to this email saying “I want to try the new thing” and we’ll add you to the list! The waitlist for this feature is open to all users, but Lex Pro subscribers (*see note at the bottom for details) will get first priority.
Fun thing for any authors that use Lex: Anyone who’s tried to get published knows the struggle of writing a query letter to find a literary agent. Sammy, a new Lex team member and aspiring fantasy novelist, has built a custom prompt that makes the process significantly less painful. Email him to give it a try: sammy@lex.page. (We’re gonna do more like this! What should we do next? Hit reply and let us know!)
In case you missed it we launched a few big things recently you might find helpful:
You can now login with any email, not just Google
You can now create shared team folders to better collaborate in Lex
You can share saved prompts you create with your team (really great for streamlining edit processes).
That’s it for this week!
As always feel free to reach out if you have any questions or if I can help in any way :)
