New in Lex: Import Files, Ask Lex subtle redesign, and an API
Hey! Nathan here, founder of Lex (https://lex.page), the modern writing platform with AI editing tools built in.
A few quick updates for you this week:
1. Import files to edit in Lex
You can now upload PDFs, markdown files, or any other kind of text file directly into Lex for editing. This has been a highly requested feature, and we're thrilled to finally bring it to you!
Why is this cool? It means you can:
Easily transfer your existing work into Lex
Collaborate on documents from various sources
Edit and enhance content from different file formats all in one place
To try it out, just look for the new import option when creating a new document. Let us know what you think!
2. Ask Lex gets a makeover
We've subtly re-designed Ask Lex to give you more visibility and control.
Now, beneath the message input, you can:
See which AI model you're using
Switch AI models
Track how many tokens you've used in this chat thread
Know at a glance how many tokens the model can handle
Check it out and let us know if you like it!
3. Introducing the Lex Developer API
For all you developers out there, we've got something special: the basics of a Lex API!
To start, you can do two things with it:
Create new documents (with optional pre-filled content)
List your existing documents
To get started, head over to our documentation at https://docs.lex.page.
We're just getting started with this, so if you need other endpoints or have any feedback, please let us know.
We're excited to see what you'll build!
4. Want to be featured on our homepage?
We're working on a redesign and would love to showcase testimonials from real users.

Your support means the world to us, and we'd be thrilled to feature you!
That's all for this week! As always, we welcome your feedback, questions, or ideas. Don't hesitate to reach out – we love hearing from you.
Thanks so much,
—Nathan Baschez, Founder of Lex
