New in Lex: free trials, new typography, new AI models, and more
Hey! Nathan here, founder of Lex (https://lex.page), the modern writing platform with AI editing tools built in.
A bunch of updates for you this week!
1. We’re now offering free trials
One thing we've learned from talking to thousands of writers: those that experience Lex's full capabilities, driven by the most powerful AI models, tend to make it their primary writing tool. That's why we're now offering a week of Pro access, on the house.
As a reminder, Pro users get:
Access to the newest and most powerful AI models
Unlimited chats and check runs
Web search, powered by Perplexity (new feature, announced a few weeks ago)
Unlimited edit history
If you’ve been curious about the difference that Lex Pro makes, you can get access now by clicking the link below:
2. Learn how to use Lex — live session
Using AI well is more art than science. If you’re interested in learning how we use Lex to write, we’re hosting a live session next week. We did one last month, and the response was so good we decided to do another.
We’d love you to join! Click here to learn more.
3. Add YouTube videos to your chats
Just drop any YouTube URL into Ask Lex, and it instantly becomes an AI assistant that's watched and understood the video.

Pro tip: Add multiple videos to build a richer knowledge base for your AI assistant to draw from! If you’re getting great results, turn it into a Context Tag!
4. More fonts
Vibes matter. So we added a selection of new typefaces to give you more control over how your writing looks.
The newly added typefaces include:
Mulish
Atkinson Hyperlegible (my personal fav)
Inter
Bookman
Lato
Montserrat
Roboto
Poppins
Enjoy!
5. Gemini 2.0 Pro
Google recently released Gemini 2.0 Pro. It’s a great model! Our favorite thing about it is the absurdly humongous context window of 2 million tokens. You can fit multiple books in there.
Try it now with Lex Pro at https://lex.page.
(Side note: I’ve made a calendar invite for a year from now to revisit the “absurdly humongous” comment. I’m hoping it will be standard, perhaps even small!)
6. Lex Writer Series - Episode 2
Carl Richards (former NYT columnist and bestselling author) returns for the second episode of our Lex Writers Series! After exploring how to build an AI editor from your past writing in episode 1, Carl and Sammy dive deeper into the practical results: how this personalized AI editor helped Carl rediscover his love for writing and tackle his next book.
In this hands-on session, you'll see how Carl uses his comprehensive style guide to maintain his distinctive voice while working through both new essays and pieces previously published in the New York Times.
Check it out here:
That’s it for this week!
