🚀The Dark Age: What we do in the background
Happy new year, friends!
One of the most interesting aspects of writing books—and my least understood—is the way problems sometimes solve themselves as soon as you stop thinking about them.
I mentioned in a previous email that I'm working on a ghostwriting project. It's got a tangible deadline, so it's taken priority, for the moment, over The Dark Age. I'd thought, at first, I'd simply juggle the two projects. But I'm not so great at the juggling, as it turns out. Perhaps if I were a full-time writer, and this were the only job I had, it would be different? I am not, however, so writing fits into the spaces I can open up for it. And opening up those spaces for one book is often challenge enough.
In any case, I've had a few days off work, and have consistently worked on my ghostwriting project each day. I'm feeling good, at least at the moment, about the work I'm doing.
