NEWS LTR №9: LettError & Summer Book Market
Letterfriends! Bookfriends! I know this is short notice, but maybe it will just work out. And if it doesn’t, there is no problem. Tomorrow, August 31, LettError’s very own Books & Prints Division will participate at the Summer Book Market in The Hague. This might involve an actual table, actual items for sale and a functioning electronic payment device.
There will be many independent artists and publishers selling books and prints and I am as curious as you and looking forward to see what will be on offer. Aim your devices to Paradise, Groenewegje 136, The Hague.
I will bring:
A selection of the best A3 RISO prints of my drawings. These include specimen sheets, highlights from the zines, some fish, and a handful of unique multilayered RISO collages featuring fluorescent pink. (I don’t have tubes, wrapping paper, bubble wrap, you’re on your own.)
Some of the lasest LettError Zines. I don’t have all issues, but the latest and most colorful ones for sure. The Spaziali issue about the book-collectors in space? So good! Penguin sized, easy to tuck away. Special bookmarket price, no shipping.
I will also bring a box of the smallest and yet most choicest of typography and design related books. This is tricky. Pre-owned, loved and yet still reasonably priced.
I hope tomorrow does not upset my bookselling friends. I need to make some room on the shelves and the bookseller cosplay is there to see what happens. The books and PIN machine are real. Sales will be final. The posters and zines are no cosplay as these are actually quite good and I will sell them without a moment of hesitation or blinking too much.
Sign Rescue!
Not for sale, but some of you may know my collection of rescued signs from around The Hague. Last week we were able to secure this beauty. The neon tubes are broken, as is usually the case, but it is still a wonderful object in its own right. We took it home on an electric Cargoroo transport bike. That’s an unsponsored link, I just really like the service and the bike was right there when and where we needed it. Two other parts of the name were adopted by appreciative type friends around town!
That is all, maybe see you at the book market!
