NEWS LTR №1: New Styles for Federal!

A handdrawn masthead of sorts. The main letters say "NEWS•LTR". Above that "No.1 / October 23" and some flourishes.
NEWS LTR №1 · October 2023.

Welcome!

Thank you for signing up to our inaugural newsletter! We have a few things to share and thought we would give this a try.

New edition of LTR Federal Bureau

LTR Federal Bureau is a fresh interpretation of the Federal shaded styles. We all love the detailed fills and shadows of the 19th Century engravers, but we do not always have the time or the typographic patience to make all the layers work. Bureau has a vertical body that does not overlap the next letter, and manages to create a convincing engraved appearance without layering. Added bonus: all text remains editable. Try LTR Federal Bureau yourself!

The word "BUREAU" in LTR Federal Bureau. The EA appear selected in the way iOS shows selected text.
Single layer LTR Federal Bureau Horizontal: easy to edit and easy on the eyes. Also: cheeky alternate A to balance out the white space.

Polychromatic type aficionados will be pleased to hear our classic multi-layer LTR Federal, now renamed to "Optical Layers", remains available for licensing in the LTR Store. LTR Federal Optical Layers

The word "Opticals" in the finest Eighteen Line shading of the LTR Federal Optical Layers.
This is a stack of LTR Federal Eighteen: with the Diagonal Shadow (purple) at the bottom, then the Bevel (red), Federal Regular (orange) and the Eighteen Line Diagonal Shaded Fill (white) on top.

All the endpieces of LTR Federal Reserve Note, in an InDesign textbox. The one that looks like a fish is blue.
The new collection of endpieces in LTR Federal Reserve Note is accessible through OpenType Stylistic Sets.

An update from the Federal Reserve

LTR Federal Reserve Note, the “Streamer” or “Cameo” version of Federal, received an update as well: it now has 10 different sets of endpieces. Pescatarians take note: Stylistic Set 09 transfigures the word into an exclusive fish. Try LTR Federal Reserve Note yourself!

The word STRIPE, written in swashy curlies, in a big black letter S.
I was compelled to redraw the Stripe logo for LettError.com. Not sure it would fly with their corporate overlords, with some luck they will never have to see this.
