I have some exciting updates and announcements to share with you this week as I prepare for WWDC 2024!

New Article: “Swift 6 Incomplete Migration Guide for Dummies”

I’m excited to share my latest article, Swift 6 Incomplete Migration Guide for Dummies where I dive into my experience migrating Bushel to Swift 6. In this guide, I explore the first steps for transitioning to Swift 6, with a particular focus on concurrency safety. You’ll learn how to handle mutable properties, use nonisolated, and make UI components @MainActor for a seamless transition. It’s a must-read for anyone preparing for the switch to Swift 6. Upcoming Release: Bushel v1.2.0

I’m working hard on finalizing the release of Bushel v1.2.0, which comes with a host of new features and improvements:

• Overall Performance Improvements: Enhanced performance to prepare for Swift 6, ensuring a smoother and faster experience.
• WishKit Integration: Now you can request and vote on new features directly within the app.
• Improved Document Management: Better tracking of moved and deleted files for Machines and Libraries.
• Enhanced Error Tracking and User Feedback: Improved systems to catch errors and collect your valuable feedback.
• Brand New Machine Creation Dialog: A redesigned interface for creating new machines, making the process more intuitive.
• Improved Installation Screen: More descriptive progress indicators to keep you informed during installations.

WWDC 2024: Meeting and Mingling
