π Issue #16 - Let's BeReal
Welcome to issue #16!
We're just going to pretend the almost 6 month gap between issues of this email newsletter didn't happen, right? Because we all deserve a break every now and then.
Link Thought Things
- If you've seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the villain has a bonkers Spider-Man connection. If you haven't seen it you really should. It's so good in a π’ kind of way.
- I still haven't finished Breath of the Wild so I'm not allowed to look, but apparently Tears Of The Kingdom fixes some Of BOTW's fumbles.
- Everything is being done in the style of Wes Anderson, so why not Lord of the Rings?
- There was plenty of May the 4th content floating around, but this History of Star Wars Posters is a nice visual treat.
- Letters of Note writes about the tradition of filmmakers congratulating each other on breaking a box office record that started with Star Wars and Jaws.
- An interesting thread on religious affiliation stats from old Canadian censuses from @Schmutzie.
- Ted Lasso is 3/4 of the way through it's 3rd and final season. Still my favourite tv series.
- Apple's built in passwords feature has been getting a lot better - but it's often hard to find. Here's how you can create a shortcut to Passwords from your Home Screen or Dock
- Why Hulk Hoganβs movie career failed. I'm a sucker for behind the scenes stories about wrestling and the people motivated to make it in that business.
If you've always wanted to try out blogging, but weren't sure how to do it - Micro.blog has a $1 summer promo on now that can get you started for almost nothing.
Podcasting Thought Things
One of my clients, Transistor.fm, had an interesting episode discussing whether parents with a young family should try to bootstrap a new startup?. ("Bootstrap a startup" is internet speak for "Start a new business").
