It's mid-November here in what's usually the Great White North by now, but we're experiencing a beautiful +8C or +9C days still. So while we've got eggnog and Xmas lights slowly coming out, out my office window I'm still feeling like I need to go mow the lawn. It's throwing me for a loop, but I'll take less snow shovelling any year.

Thoughts I Would Have Tweeted
I always appreciate vulnerability, especially in a blog post. Robin Rendle opens up about their mental health struggles:
"But this whole thing has reminded me that it’s time to stop seeing help as this embarrassing thing to ask for, a source of shame. Help is just help."
I love all things Irish. I've been to Ireland twice. I got engaged in Ireland. U2 is my favorite band. I tried to convince my wife we should move to Ireland so our kids would have Irish accents when they grew up. Which is why Andrea Woods' TikTok is like craic to me.
I understand why individuals need to stay on Twitter to reach an audience they built there, but companies like Apple don't need to use Twitter, do they? IBM pulled their ad spend on Twitter because of Musk's white nationalist and antisemitic conspiracy theories tweets. How long until Apple and others do the same?
Edit: Before I could send this, news broke that Apple is pausing advertising on X after Musk backs antisemitic post.
I've almost pulled the trigger on building a modern gaming PC for the last 10 years, each time chickening out for one reason or another. Maybe this in-depth Wired story on building a PC will help push me over the edge. (Spoiler: It won't. I'll still chicken out.)

I'm really loving chipping away at Super Mario Wonder. I recently discovered the online play mode where you're not really playing with other people, but you can see them as they go by in real time if they're in the same level as you. And they can even help revive you if you die. It's such a cool Nintendo way of doing online multiplayer that's the opposite of "kill everyone else asap" gaming that's popular these days.
