Welcome to Issue #18!
I've decided to pivot this newsletter to being "Stuff I would've tweeted if Elon hadn't bought and destroyed Twitter". So adjust your expectations accordingly and let's go!

Thoughts I Would Have Tweeted This Week
Somehow the 2nd gen AirPort Express I bought back in ~2012 continues to work and stream music to my stereo. I keep waiting for the update that breaks it, and I have to go buy a new AirPlay supported amp. I think it’s my oldest + still in use Apple product. What's the oldest bit of technology gear you still use regularly?
If Twitter thinks paying $1 will deter spam bot makers on Twitter, clearly they’ve never been to a concert where someone’s paid over $300 to get so drunk they can’t remember where they are only to get thrown out after three songs.
I can sit on both sides of the AI fence: I think it's super cool to be able to shorten tasks, while also feeling icky that people's jobs that they love are potentially falling out from underneath them. I live this in my own business every day.
I've been testing out Fantastical for my calendar / reminders and I'm loving it. The new iOS 17 widgets make me want to pick up an iPad just as a calendaring device.
Happy Super Mario Wonder day to all who celebrate. I've got a copy to pick up from Best Buy sometime today. I'm really excited for the first new Mario game that's come out while we've owned some form of Nintendo hardware since I bought a NES to play the original.
