🍋 Issue #33 - It's a Long December
Movies to watch, podcasts to listen to, and Men at Work?
Welcome to issue #33!
This past weekend was filled with news of so much sadness around the world, I’m not sure whether a silly email is worth sending out.
Maybe quoting one of my favourite movies is a good way to start:
Fezzik! Are there rocks ahead?
If there are, we’ll all be dead!
No more rhymes now, I mean it.
Anybody want a peanut?
On with the email!
Words I Wrote
Links to blog or social media posts I published in the past week.
You Should Start a Blog Now (or Later) - I was inspired to tell people to start a blog. But you could also just start a newsletter.
Linking to Likes
YouTube videos, blog posts, podcast episodes—whatever I've enjoyed or found interesting over the last few weeks.
Rob Reiner was a master who didn't care if you noticed - Celebrate their lives by (re)watching some Reiner classics.
Drinking The Largest Beer At The Airport Makes Everything Better - I've never been a "airport beer" guy, but I just love the illustrations.
Pluralistic: The Reverse-Centaur’s Guide to Criticizing AI - I really appreciate Cory Doctorow's views on technology.
The AI water issue is fake - I think we can be concerned about the environmental impact of new technology, without needing to make it the most evil, vile thing to ever have been created in the process.
Size of Life - Amazing website showing the size of everything relative to other things.
iOS 26.2 Features: Everything New in iOS 26.2 - iOS was just updated. I always need these guides to remember what's actually changed or been added.
All 3 The Lord of the Rings Movies Are Returning to Theaters in Extended Edition Form - I was going to try and get my kids to finally watch LOTR this Xmas, but maybe it'll be easier to bribe them with movie theatre popcorn.
This Week at Lemon Productions
It's not always easy to talk about client work when it’s not public yet, but I thought I'd link to episodes I found interesting, or fun things happening in podcasting that I come across.
694: Invoicing with Studioworks with Jessica and Chris - I felt very seen listening to Jessica Hische and Chris Shiftless talk about their new business called Studioworks. Bookkeeping and invoicing is a huge stress of mine, and they make it sound so easy.
The Nursery Rhyme That Ruined a Rock Band - A fascinating history of the Men at Work song, "Down Under".
