Chips on a Sandwich | no. 3 | PAPER DELIVERY

Here's this week's crunchy offering of bits of joy.

REALLY, REALLY GOOD PAPER: The Morgan Conservatory in Cleveland is a (gigantic) space dedicated to the art of papermaking (also books arts and letterpress printing). And it's the ONLY non-profit in America that produces a large volume of handmade paper. It feels so good between your fingers. Artists worldwide use it as a medium for their work. And its sustainable-- urban gardens grow renewable sources of fiber and natural dyes to make the paper. Next time you're in Cleveland (during non-pandemic times) maybe skip the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and take a tour. Watch how they are keeping an ancient art alive.

1000 PAPER CRANES: So, the Japanese folklore goes, fold a thousand paper cranes and your deepest wish will come true. If you've never tried origami I highly recommend giving it a go. The repetitive folding is like a meditation. I find it relieves stress. Then one day read the story about Sadako Sasaki the Japanese girl whose attempt to fold 1000 orizuru (paper cranes) stirred a movement. (It will probably make you weepy, fyi.)

WHAT'S A PAPERCLOOP?: These little spiral guys are delightful paper clips that have gone loopy. The little imps work just like their oblong elders-- plus they're adorable.

FOREVER FLOWERS: It's Erica Worrall's business to make beauty that never fades. Find her delicate creations at Little Paper Flowers . The artistry is incredible. Imagine a bride's bouquet that lasts indefinitely (and statistically longer than half of all marriages!). Here's one of her magnolias: (right click if image doesn't load)

POLL: Pens-- click or cap? (The results are in from last week and you all love your leaves-- deciduous wins.)
