Finally, A Newsletter From Darren!
Note: While this is a G-Rated Newsletter, it does talk about sex, sexuality, kink, and non-monogamy in an educational context. Consider yourself warned.
I'm finally kicking off my newsletter. In theory, it should be available at the beginning of the month here on Substack or via Fetlife if you follow me on that site.
You’re receiving this newsletter because you signed up to receive more info from me at some point
I'm not a big fan of celebrating the New Year in the middle of the winter. I've talked to several clients who are feeling all kinds of pressure to create resolutions and big changes. We're mammals in the middle of the winter, if you're not up for big change then don't sweat it. Make changes when they work for you, at a pace that suits your needs. As I mentioned here please prioritize treating yourself with love and compassion. You are enough just as you are today.
If you struggle with treating yourself well or would benefit from coaching support from an experienced peer, please connect with me on my website Learn, Grow, Repeat.
Online Events This Month
In January I will be teaching 2 online classes for folks into or curious about kink! Registration for both is available via Eventbrite!
Introduction To Power Exchange will be happening on January 12. This is a great class for new folks or anyone interested in learning more about the basics of power exchange in relationships or scenes.
Pick-Up D/s: Power Exchange On The Fly is on January 24. This class is for anyone who would like to learn tips & tricks for creating temporary, scene-based D/s connections with their play partners. Whether you're playing private or in public, there's something for you here to help build scenes based in power and mutual intent.
In-Person Events This Month
On January 15 I will be partnering with Toronto TNG to present Dungeon Monitor (DM) Training. This in-person workshop will teach folks the basics of the role of Dungeon Monitor, how to monitor the safety and well-being of others in community, and how to facilitate alternative sexuality spaces.
Other Cool Things To Know About
I posted a writing on Ways To Make Your Party/Space Safer & Welcoming on Fetlife if you’re on that platform. I’ll also post a copy on Substack soon. Hopefully this will be a good space to discuss how we think differently about kink and other non-mainstream sexuality spaces and how we create spaces where people play, connect, and/or fuck.
I will be on an upcoming Episode of The Bedpost Podcast in January. In the meantime, feel free to listen to my previous epsiodes from 2019 and from 2021 while you wait for the new one to drop!
This podcast on "How To Make Wrongs Right" was an episode of one of my favourite podcasts, We Can Do Hard Things and a breath of fresh air on how to navigate harm between people, in communities, and throughout the world. I highly, highly recommend it.
My friend Thista is an amazing educator and is teaching Stumbling Into Spooky this month. If you're a woo-oriented kinkster or just spiritually curious I really recommend her work.
