February 2026 Newsletter

January Got Away From Me!

Suddenly it's mid-February and I'm only now getting out my first newsletter of the year!

Today is the first nice day we've had in a while in my part of the world, a balmy 9°C while I'm looking out my window and writing this. I hope that you are finding warmth, connection, and comfort wherever you are in the world!

Winter is always a challenging time for me, so know that if you aren't "on top of things" like you'd like to be, you're not alone. I struggle with this in the winter, and so do a ton of disabled clients that I work with. We're wired for rest and comfort during the colder months, and slowness serves us well. I hope you will be kind to yourself in the next while as the northern part of the world turns toward yet another spring.

As always, I have quite a few workshops coming up to let y'all know about, including a few that will help us deal with some of the challenges that come up this time of year. I hope you'll join me virtually to build community, care, and practices that serve us!

Neurodivergent-Affirming Online Workshops

Building A Self-Care Toolbox

Sign up here!

Join us for this session in a series of workshops hosted by Em Marshall and Dare Campbell from Blue Sky Learning!

What if we could be kinder to ourselves and reduce guilt and shame? What could it look like to find compassion and care when those things feel inaccessible?

Join us for a supportive, neuro-affirming workshop where we will learn how simple care tools can lead to being kinder and more loving to ourselves.Using hands‑on strategies, sensory‑friendly practices, and insights from lived experience and research, participants will have a great opportunity to learn how to:

  • Recognize the difference between numbing behaviors and genuine self-care practices.
  • Apply self-compassion principles to support their mental and emotional well-being.
  • Develop a personalized self-care toolbox with strategies for restorative, active, and inner care.

This workshop will be led by experienced facilitators who have been working with disabled and neurodivergent communities for years. We strive to be affirming of all neurotypes and to approach our work through an anti-colonial, anti-oppressive lens.

Care When There Is No "After": Ongoing Care For Persistent Power Dynamics - March 18th

Sign up here!

For those of us in ongoing, persistent power dynamics, the idea of “aftercare” can be challenging. Whether we are Mistress/slave, Owner/property, Dominant/submissive, or any other form of ongoing, persistent power exchange, our lives often are not full of “scenes.” Our power exploration is part of our daily lives, with its peaks and valleys, challenges and triumphs.

In this workshop, Dare will discuss several aspects of care for ongoing dynamics, including:

  • Recognizing where care is needed
  • Understanding where our peaks and valleys happen
  • Understanding evolving care needs
  • Establishing care inside & outside our dynamics
  • Communication of care needs within our dynamics
  • Understand the impact of our wider lives, how our power dynamics fits into it, and how that impacts care
  • Explore aspects of our dynamic that are care

See you next month!
