Django News Newsletter

Jeff Triplett and I continue to run the weekly newsletter highlighting Django news, project, tutorials, events, and general happenings. It is the easiest way to stay up-to-date on everything happening in the Django community.

Open Source

The awesome-django repo I manage alongside Jeff Triplett hit 10K stars on GitHub and my long-running Django starter project, Lithium (formerly called DjangoX), was updated to Django 5.1, added uv support, and a host of smaller new features.

New Job

If you're still reading, I also started a new job in January as a Python Developer Advocate at JetBrains, the company behind the PyCharm IDE and a long-time supporter of Django who I have worked with in the past when I was on the Django Board. JetBrains is, by far, the single biggest contributor to the Django Software Foundation year after year, often accounting for 1/4 to 1/3 of the entire annual budget.
