DjangoCon US 2025 - Django for AI

In September, I attended DjangoCon US in Chicago where I gave a talk on Django for AI: Deploying Machine Learning Models with Django. The video is now available on YouTube and there is also a text-only version.

There are three repos available on GitHub related to the talk:

  • djangoforai - Django + local LLM + HTMX demo presented in the talk

  • django_irisml - Deployed Django site with ML model available at DjangoForDataScience.com

  • iris_ml - Jupyter notebook of trained ML model used in the demo

Blog Posts

I’ve written 34 posts this year on my personal website: wsvincent.com. Some highlights that might be of interest:

Django Chat Podcast now on YouTube!

The long-running Django Chat podcast is now available in video format as well on YouTube. This is a bi-weekly show featuring prominent members of the community. Our most-recent guest was Adrian Holovaty, one of the original Django creators, who rarely makes a public appearance. It was a real honor to have him come on and talk about Django 20 years later.

If you want a weekly dose of Django—news, tutorials, projects, and more—check out the Django News Newsletter, which arrives every Friday.

Django 6.0

It’s hard to believe, but Django 6.0 is expected in early December! You can check out the release notes already. There will be lots of coverage on the podcast and newsletter about this, as well as planned updates to all the tutorials and courses on LearnDjango.com.

Final Thoughts

If you’re still reading, thanks for supporting LearnDjango.com this year. In January, I started a new role as a Developer Advocate at JetBrains working on the PyCharm IDE, and as a result my usual cadence of content (as well as email response time) has decreased somewhat.

I appreciate everyone’s patience around this. Running LearnDjango.com is still a one-person effort that I enjoy doing and I have plans for more new material in 2026. Stay tuned for updates on that!
