Leaflet alpha - undo/redo & polls
Unduly unruly undo — unto you!
After many months, it's finally here: undo, and its mirror image sidekick, redo.
This is probably our most requested basic feature that really every doc editor should support, but proved surprisingly tricky to tackle. We need to support undo/redo not only within text areas, but across all our block types and across subpages — lots of edge cases to handle.
But…now it works! Combined with block locking, and accounts to save docs to your home, it's now pretty hard to accidentally lose things you make in Leaflet.
There may be a few rough edges — please give it a try and let us know if you run into any issues.
On a roll with polls
We also added a block type some of you have requested: polls!
This is a simple — but quite flexible — way to make docs more interactive with custom polls any viewer can respond to.
Add one from the block menu ("/poll" from an empty block) to try it!
Some ways to use polls:
twitter-style polls - simple; classic :)
feedback on essays / drafts - e.g. "what version do you like best?", or even reaction emojis
organizing events - like "which times can you make?" or "sign up for things to bring"
vote on things with friends - e.g. which games to play, what to watch for movie night, what to read for book club
public roadmap or suggestion box - e.g. vote on features you'd like to see (example below!)
Things to know about how polls work:
you can add as many options as you like
people can select multiple options
anyone with the edit OR view link can vote in polls
Example (please vote!) — what should we add next in Leaflet?
As always hit reply with further thoughts / feedback :)
Thanks!
