Leaflet alpha - templates & page sharing
Two new things in Leaflet from the past couple weeks:
First, templates — a way to make Leaflets based on other Leaflets!
TRY TEMPLATES…
Explore templates, and make your own version with just one click, in our new Template Library! So far we've got:
four themes — Foliage, Lunar, Paper, Oceanic
four doc types — Reading List, Travel Plan, Gift Guide, Event Page
MAKE TEMPLATES…
You can designate any of your own Leaflets as a template from home, and it'll show as a new doc option in the "+" button in the sidebar.
Great if you need to make the same type of doc often — or just as a shortcut for a blank doc with a favorite theme.
MORE TEMPLATES…???
Let us know what you think of these, and if there are others you'd like to see…or contribute to the template library!
Second, per-page linking — you can now deep-link directly to any subpage in a Leaflet.
This plays nicely with our new per-page theming! Share a read-only link or an edit link, and viewers will open directly to that page, with a link back to the root page. Nice for sharing, say, a particular essay draft or item in a collection.
For example I can link you directly to Close to the Machine in the Hypertext Past/Future reading list I made :)
Note this is NOT a way to scope permissions (e.g. grant edit access only to a single page) — sharing read or edit access to a page grants recipients that access to the whole Leaflet.
Next up, working on a fun way to add comment sections. Also thinking about "collection" pages and a bunch of other things on the list to explore. As always please reach out with any ideas or requests!
