Leaflet alpha - new canvas pages!
Big update this week in Leaflet: canvas pages!
This is a new page type for creative visual layouts — things like mind maps, mood boards, and more.
You can now make pages that are either documents (linear) or canvases (freeform spatial). You can add any blocks, rotate and resize them, even overlap blocks for zine / scrapbook vibes.
Canvases can live alongside document pages, seamlessly linking together — great for intermingling drafts and inspo, for example. Make a new Leaflet where the first page is a canvas, or link a canvas to any page.
Leaflet's canvas is not an infinite canvas, but you can toggle the width horizontally (1–2x page width), and add as much vertical space as you need. Kind of like an endless roll of butcher paper :)
Things to try making with canvas pages in Leaflet:
- tiny photo albums
- collage-style homepages
- visual research notebooks
- collaborative brainstorm
- zines (one page, or many)
Let us know what you make, and how this can be more useful :)
Also new — a slash (/) command menu, for more easily adding blocks in both document and canvas pages!
We had a great time on Friday making docs as gifts, and we're doing another writing session! If you're in NYC we invite you to join us Sunday morning to write poems in Prospect Park — RSVP here.
We also extended our deadline for Leaflet micro-grants — submit a doc to win $100 by end of day Sunday! Details here. Please feel free to share!
