Leaflet alpha - datetime blocks & locks
A few new things in Leaflet, in service of more delightful documents!
Datetime blocks are a simple way to add dates — and also times. These show local to you, so useful for coordinating across time zones.
Use datetime blocks to:
schedule events (start and end times if you like)
set deadlines / due dates
make a simple calendar / timeline
keep a journal or project log
You can have one per page, or many…up to you, they're just blocks, so it's a flexible little piece for anything time-related!
We're exploring things that could complement this and make events / coordination easier and more fun. One example: we'd like to add a simple RSVP block! Other ideas? We'd love to hear em :)
We also added a way to lock blocks in a doc, to protect against accidental deletion and indicate to collaborators what's safe to edit.
Select any block(s) and hit the lock icon in the toolbar, and other editors won't be able to edit til the block is unlocked.
Let us know if this is useful! (FYI, support for undo is on the list, but it's honestly super complex and may take a while.)
Oh and two more things—
We added a Leaflet watermark for some subtle branding on shared docs. It helps us spread the word, but totally optional, you can toggle it off in theme options.
You can now align text from the toolbar! Left, center, right…very useful for headers and poetry alike :)
As always please reply with any feedback or requests!
