Leaflet alpha - custom domains

Our latest Leaflet feature's a fun one — custom domains!

You can link a Leaflet to any domain you own — root (e.g. web.site) or subdomain (e.g. my.web.site) — and can optionally add a path (e.g. web.site/page)

Add a domain from share settings to try it now! Note that it may show as pending for a bit while DNS propagates.

Examples we're playing with:

Celine's making some for her projects, with different Leaflets as different paths — like favorite recipes at cozylittle.house/recipes and baking experiments at cozylittle.house/baking

I (Brendan) added one as a nice public shortcut for this syllabus collection I made: syllabus.zone

And I’m adding docs on subdomains of schlage.town (also my Bluesky handle!) starting with a list of my public Leaflets at docs.schlage.town

Lots of use cases we're excited about:

  • cool domains for project microsites

  • shortcuts for public resources like a reading list or syllabus

  • shortcuts for your own personal most-used docs

  • simple homepage or link-in-bio site

  • listings page for an event series

A little more fine print on how it works:

  • You need a Leaflet account to add custom domains

  • Subpages don’t get their own separate paths

  • This customizes just the publish link, not the edit link

Hope you have fun with this — and please hit us up with any questions :)
