Leaflet alpha - accounts & doc syncing
Our last big release of the year:
Leaflet now has accounts, so you can sync your docs across devices!
This is big news for anyone with many Leaflets — a category we of course hope more and more people join as the app improves :)
For example I (Brendan) have 100+ now (!) Here's what they look like…rotated 90 degrees to fit:
Until now I haven't used Leaflet on my phone as often as I'd like, mainly because it's annoying to send myself the links from desktop. But I can already tell it's a way better experience now!
With proper syncing and persistence, Leaflet is even better for:
organizing lots of notes / docs with a team
an ongoing home for evolving project notes
easily sharing various things with various people
Here's how to give this a try:
go to leaflet.pub/home and enter your email to sign in
we'll automatically sync any local docs to your account, and when you sign in from other devices / browsers, we'll sync there too
This is a bit complex, and we could use more folks to test and help us make sure it works smoothly on all devices! Please reply if you notice anything glitchy.
We want to build on this further in the new year, and we'd love to hear what you think! Two things on our list:
improve "home" e.g. with search and some kind of doc organization (we just made it faster, to start!)
make it easier to not only make lots of docs, but link them together
Ideal would be like…a kind of personal doc ecosystem, that you can arrange to fit your idiosyncratic needs, and work on projects of different shapes and scales, from small seeds to sprawling structure, across different groups or networks…things we've been thinking about for a while now!
