I had to write the first two weeks at the same time. It was a rush. I had a lot of fun thinking about this from a bigger picture. It's like playing chess. Sometimes you make the wrong move, but you learn from it.
It's fun to see the reactions to the comic strip. Most of the time, it's hard to ignore homophobic, transphobic, and racist comments. But I have said this many times, and I will say it until I'm blue in the face; the vast majority of Gil Thorp fans are pretty cool.

If you're looking to become a comic book writer, you need to listen to artists. You can only do certain things in this medium—and I try to exhaust these methods in three panels. If I were an aspiring comic writer, I would watch this Frank Quietly TEDx talk.
