New Latinx Press Podcast Featuring Chloe Brailsford
Stop AAPI Violence.
I’m trying to keep a Monday and Friday posting schedule, so you’re getting two podcast interviews this week.
Today’s new episode is one for the ages, folks. One of my favorite artists right now is Chloe Brailsford. It’s only a matter of time before some publisher with deep pockets can give her the money she deserves to make comics. Here’s your chance to say, “I knew her when,” before she’s too busy jet-setting the world and making leather mommy art for the Louvre.
Con Appearance: Arizona Comicbook Arts Festival
I look forward to staying put until my next con in Arizona. My buddy Ryan Cody invited me to the Arizona Comicbook Arts Festival on Saturday, February 25th. I haven’t tabled in downtown Phoenix since 2019, so I’m excited to close friends and fans. Click here to buy your cheap tickets before they sell out.

TW: Mass shootings, AAPI violence
Now for the depressing stuff.
It’s the start of the Lunar New Year. There was a horrific mass shooting during a weekend celebration in Monterey Park—with 10 dead and 10 injured—according to L.A. Times. It has been reported that the suspected gunman died from self-inflicted wounds, so it’s uncertain why he did what he did. If you haven’t been to Monterey Park, fix that. It’s a beautiful area predominantly made up of Asian American people.
As someone who has been a part of a community that has seen this type of violence, this horrific groundhogs day chain of events never gets easier to watch. The fact that this country continues to be the only place this happens is dumbfounded. To quote Parkland survivor David Hogg’s tweet, “We live in a country with such a broken political system and awful leaders that the responsibility of ending gun violence has been put on the survivors of it. It should not be that way.”
I agree. It shouldn’t be that way.

It isn't in my nature to wish these events garnered more publicity because they already do. Over the years, this country has become more desensitized to gun violence. Don’t let the people that “do their own research” tell you something isn’t getting coverage. Trust me, there’s an underpaid journalist out there interviewing grieving loved ones, so please support your local journalist if you can. I would encourage you to support your community, educate yourself, or donate to Stop AAPI or their recommended list of platforms.
