Gil Thorp Turns 65 years old!

Back in 1958, Jack Berrill debuted his sports comic strip in the Midwest rag circuit. The Chicago Tribune, to be exact. This daily comic resonated with teens and adults alike because Gil Thorp dealt with issues that a comic strip didn’t go near, like racism, body shaming, religious intolerance, homosexuality, drug usage, and teen pregnancy.
