Episode 3 is live: The Burn Book Problem

Hi LAiDIES,

Episode 3 is live: The Burn Book Problem.

The Burn Book has power because it can build a very true-sounding story around one tiny detail.

Just ask Bethany Byrd.

One private data point goes in. A whole character verdict comes out. Suddenly a messy little rumour page is walking around like it has a journalism degree, a source list, and (wide-set) confidence.

That is the danger zone with AI.

Sometimes the answer is not obviously fake. Sometimes it has one real fact, one stale source, one confident assumption, and just enough formatting to make everyone at the table stop asking questions.

This week is about hallucinations, receipts, verification, and the professional nightmare of putting your name on a polished answer right before one tiny detail makes the whole story collapse.

The lesson:

AI can draft like Regina George. You still need to check like Elle Woods.

Inside this week’s Wednesday Bag:

✨ Read Episode 3: The Burn Book Problem
✨ Take the quiz
✨ Run the Try-On
✨ Grab the Elle Woods Receipts Pass cheat sheet
✨ Listen to the weekly anthem: Don’t Be Chutney On The Stand
✨ Visit Madame CLAi-O, Fairy Godmother, Dream Phone, and the Weekly Fun Pack

We also cleaned up the LAiDIES experience this week so the site is easier to move through: a clearer homepage, a better weekly Bag flow, and more obvious paths for reading the issue, doing the ritual, or starting from the beginning.

The new issue is here:

wearelaidies.com

Go read it, check the alibi, and please do not be Chutney on the stand.

Yours in receipts and responsible forwarding,
Ali

P.S. Technically this went live yesterday, but I forgot the newsletter subscriber sending machine is not psychic and does, tragically, require me to actually go in and press send. Very Episode 3 of me. Check the receipt, etc, etc.

P.P.S. Check us out on Instagram we.are.laidies. Small (for now), but mighty!
