It's Back. Wrangeback.

Oh, how we have missed you.
Wrangeback is in the building. After what seemed like an eternity, the Swedish powerhouse is back. A few hours from the captial, Almnas Bruk (the name of the area as well as the dairy) is our back drop…

Sweden’s only PDO consistently sits in our mongers’, “best cheeses in the room,” list. The modern day Wrangeback has been produced since 2008, but the dairy itself has been in operation since 1889, making Almnas Bruk Sweden’s oldest cheese brand.
Raw milk from a herd of Brown Swiss and Holstein Friesians, grazing on lush pasture throughout the summer months, is used to create a unique final product. The cheese lands somewhere between an alpine style, a cheddar and a washed rind. This has proven time and time again to be a winning formula.

The paste remains ever so slightly more open than the familiar Comte or Gruyere while the acidity comes through like many of our classic clothbound cheddars. Underneath all of this is a moreish richness that has continued to pull us back.
I could continue writing or I could encourage you to get involved, as the best way to learn, is to taste.
Good day.
Jakob
