Beaufort Chalet D’Alpage (July 2024)

Fresh wheels of Beaufort Chalet D’alpage have arrived from Eric Mainbourg in the Savoie! At 15 months and utilizing peak summer milk, cheeses are tasting floral, lively and sweet. An uplifting boost in such uncertain times.

Almnas Tegal

Also pleased to receive fresh batches of both Wrangeback and Almnas Tegal from Almnas Bruk! We have long been fans of the century old dairy based in Almnas, Sweden. Their cheeses are unique in both flavour and texture, offering distinct contrast to our alpine styles from France and Switzerland.

Almnas Tegal is very much unique in style. On blind tasting, the savoury, light butterscotch notes could lead one to believe this is an aged Gouda! While current batches are on the younger side, 16 months, they offer a perfect balance between intensity, salt, and body. With room to grow, these cheeses will keep on giving for the months leading up to Christmas.

They are in limited quantity, so if you were keen, I would dive in!
