october 2023
Hello from Tokyo!
Some of what's been happening since my last letter from late September:
October 2023
This month, I did very little writing, especially after October 7th - I didn’t feel able to write a single poem. I did paint a sign and join a protest for Palestine in Tokyo. Also, I decided to step away from Twitter. Although I’d really like to get to know fellow artists and writers, and I absolutely love reading / seeing other people’s works, I’ve found it extra overwhelming to try to keep up well across all the forms of social media (something I haven’t been great at recently anyway).
I’ve added a few new pieces to this point and shoot photography gallery.
I edited my profile on my website, which will probably be an ongoing process as I continue to reassess what to share, and changed the site colors to dark mode.
Near the end of September, my poem Neon Heartbreak was released in the dreamland anthology of fifth wheel press. This was my first ever poetry acceptance.
My poem Evidence of Emotion is in Issue Seventeen of Feral.
Three things I wrote titled transmasc witch spell, The Electrician, What a Waste are now in bullshit lit.
My poem Foxfire is in Issue 7 of Honeyguide Literary Magazine.
A flash fiction piece I wrote called Stars Falling in an Empty Field is in Gastropoda.
My poem Trans King of Cups is in Issue 03: Queer of Toil & Trouble.
ANMLY #37 is home to my poem Meltdown at High Tide, and my reading in audio form is also available there.
