The Day is Near!
Hello Everyone,
As I write these words, it is just over two days before the event. I wanted to send a few updates.
What do you need to bring?
Some people have been asking if they need to bring a ticket. The answer is no. We are a small group, and I know all of you. Just bring yourself anything you'd like to use to write things down (paper, laptop, etc.) and your curiosity about psychoanalysis.
The Location (Outside)
For people who are not familiar with the area: The event is happening in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.
- The address is 5005 Newport Drive, Suite 102 Conference Room, Rolling Meadows, IL 60010.
- Parking is free & ample.
- The building we will be in looks like this (I captured it from a few angles).
The Space (Inside)
When you enter the building through the front door (pictured above under the awning), you will walk to the end of the hall, and our space will be on your left.
- I'll be in the hallway before the event starts to direct people to the room.
- Eighteen people are coming, and we should all be able to fit around the large conference table, which I believe will create a pleasant atmosphere for conversation.
- The room we will be in can be seen below:

One More Thing
I talked with Tom about this event a few days back, and he spoke about how much he hoped it could be more like a conversation (talking with) and less like a series of lectures (talking at).
Another thing Tom said was that he is hoping people will come to the event with questions and that if they have comments and questions, they will share them.
I've been at events where people have questions but don't ask them. I think people don't ask questions because they are worried that it will be a "basic" question that other people will already know the answer to. However, these questions, which seem obvious or basic, are often the best because so many people have them but are not asking them because they all think the question is obvious/basic!
So, in short: Please, please, please, ask any questions that come to you.
