Thanks!
Hello,
I wanted to send a thank you to everybody who came to the seminar yesterday! It was a huge pleasure for me to be able to spend the time Tom and all of you.
- I hope the event was interesting and useful to you!
- I hope that you’ll want to come to our future events!
- if you have any feedback, positive or negative, I hope you’ll share it with me. This was the first event like this we have ever done, and I’m sure we have lots to learn.
The Community:
These are the early days of building the Lacanian Community here in the Midwest, and I'd like to invite all of you to continue your involvement in creating and growing this community. The more involved you are, the more impact you'll have on what the community turns into.
Here are a few things you can do to get more involved if you'd like to:
Reading Seminars:
Starting soon, I will be hosting an in-person reading seminar, which will read and discuss Freud's The Wolfman Case. This seminar will take place on Saturday afternoons at my home. It will be invite-only, but if any of you want to be invited, email me, and I'll give you the details.
I'm also doing a read-through of Lacan's Seminar XII: The Four Fundamental Concepts of Psychoanalysis via a podcast.

Slack Group:
You can join our group’s Slack group. (For those who don’t know what Slack is: it’s a group messaging platform. You can run it as an app on your phone or computer.)

Get Involved with the Compass:
The last thing I want to encourage everyone to do is look at the Lacanian Compass's website, particularly the Clinical Study Days section. This year, the study days will take place in New York on February 10-12. Unfortunately, I will not be attending this year because the vent takes place far too close to the due date for the birth of my third child. However, if you can go, this event is a great way to get a feel for how Lacanian Analysts structure, present, and discuss clinical material.
Fin:
That's it for this one. If you want to continue getting these updates, I'll keep sending them through this email list. (I'll send another email with some links to texts that were referenced during the seminar later in the week.)
Please use the unsubscribe link below if you don't want to get anymore emails about this stuff.
