Autumn in South Africa
In April, we spent a little over two weeks driving from Johannesburg to Cape Town, including Kruger National Park and the coastal Garden Route, before staying in the Cape Peninsula and Stellenbosch.
During the day, we hiked through tall fields of grass and drove through plains filled with hyenas, lions, and elephants…
And in the evenings, we grilled and worked on our writings and illustrations.
I often find myself going through long periods without writing or taking photos. I forget to observe and to reflect, and I can’t quite place my words as quickly in my day-to-day.
After writing for three weeks, I felt I had brought back something that had been missing.
I didn’t expect much from publishing a Notion page, but several people told me it placed South Africa on the map for them.
It’s been two months since then, and life in NYC feels faster than I remember it.
