Sometimes I Announce Big Things (Like Now)

Hello all!
A couple of years ago, I wrote a book called I NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY, and some people liked it anyway, and it was nominated for the Nebula Award. At the time, I went all out, thinking: “Well, that’s it. A one-time deal.”

Totally humbled, honored, and thrilled to say I was wrong.

My short story (Evan: A Remainder), published last January in Reactor, is a Nebula Finalist! Thank you to all who voted and believed in this one (and thank you to all who read it and thought it was fun!).

You can still read this story at Reactor here.

Also wanted to tell any of you in Columbus, Ohio, that there’s an EventBrite link up for my book release party at Clintonville Books on March 31st! I’ll be reading from THE DEATH OF MOUNTAINS (latest book) and in conversation Jason Sanford (another terrific Columbus author).

THE DEATH OF MOUNTAINS is up for pre-order from Lethe Press, but some people have told me their books are already arriving! Amazing!

If anyone would like to come to the event at Clintonville Books? Please click the link here: EventBrite link to a Conversation with Jordan Kurella.

I took a photo to commemorate the Nebula Finalist announcement. As a guy getting further and further along in his transition, thought some of you might like to see how that’s going? Maybe? Anyway, here’s me:

A white man sits in a chair, leaning forward. He is wearing a black t-shirt and grey jeans, smiling at the camera. Grey curly hair piled high on his head. He is gesturing vaguely at a plastic Halloween skeleton decoration sitting in a similar chair, though the plastic skeleton is out of focus.
This is me. I am him.

If any of you are arriving at Clintonville Books on March 31st? Come say hi! I’ll be signing books after the reading and conversation. It’s been all too long.

Also, please send me an email of what you’ve been up to. I always love hearing from you.

Stella and Dax are well. I am moving through the general cycles of scream, eat, walk, work, scream, eat, walk, work. Doing what I can when I can.

Remember: human rights are for everyone! Call your reps! None of us are free until all of us are free! And genocide has never been cool, bro.
