NEWsletter: New Book! And Book Launch!
Hello all!
So I once thought I’d get this Buttondown newsletter thing buttoned down much faster than I actually did, but considering the state of everything? I didn’t. Sorry about that. Turns out that existential dread not being existential isn’t really all that great for newsletter writing.
Anyway! Wanted to tell you about a couple of things.

NUMBER ONE:
I have a new book coming out! It’s called THE DEATH OF MOUNTAINS and it’s a fabulist, allegorical, climate fiction novella about the Death of Mountains coming for a middling hill in the Appalachians that doesn’t want to die. It got a great review from Publisher’s Weekly, saying it had “much to savor.” Blurbs coming in from Michael De Luca and CJ Lavigne have been great! Alex Brown (book reviewer) said in their bookmail that stories like THE DEATH OF MOUNTAINS are “more meaningful than ever.”
You can pre-order it now from Lethe Press. The official release date is March 31, 2025.
NUMBER TWO:
There’s a book launch event for THE DEATH OF MOUNTAINS in Columbus, Ohio! Yes, that’s right! At Clintonville Books on March 31st at 6pm, I’ll be reading from THE DEATH OF MOUNTAINS and in conversation with Jason Sanford about the book (and other stuff) before a brief Q&A. You can also buy the new book there (and I NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY or WHEN I WAS LOST.)
I’d also love to see any of you who are local!
NUMBER THREE:
Stella will not be at the book launch as she has now officially retired from work and is living her best life as a pet dog in my care. She is getting pets from all the people, treats from anyone who will give them to her, and can play with all the dogs on her walk. So, if you’re coming to see Stella? Won’t be there. Sorry.
NUMBER FOUR:
Quick life update: cue screaming.
Hope to see you on March 31st at Clintonville Books!
