Vegas, woodstoves, and Armando ... oh my!

Hi
It’s definitely starting to feel like winter here in North Idaho. The wood stove is cranking most days now—though every so often I have to crack a window before I melt! (Cozy has its limits.) The dogs are loving it, of course—nothing like a warm fire and a good nap to make them feel they’ve achieved peak winter living.
Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of attending Author Nation in Las Vegas. I’ll admit, Vegas itself isn’t exactly my scene—so much glitz and so many dollar signs—but the conference was absolutely worth it. I came home inspired and full of ideas after learning about everything from making my website more accessible to quieting that ever-chattering inner critic. And yes, James Patterson gave the keynote! It was motivating to hear from someone who’s written, oh, a few books in his time.
Now that I’m back home (and thawed out from the desert air-conditioning), it’s time to buckle down and get to work on Book 4 of my Ragin’ Moon Refuge series. This one will be Armando’s story, and though I’m still working out many of the details, I can’t wait to share more about it in the months ahead. Stay tuned—there’s plenty of heart, humor, and hounds yet to come 😀
If you haven’t already, don’t forget you can grab your FREE copy of A Story for Another Day, the Ragin’ Moon prequel featuring Frank and Colleen’s love story. It’s my gift to my loyal subscribers and the perfect way to revisit how the refuge began.

No book recommendation this month—it’s been a little hectic—but I promise to have one ready for you next time. Until then, stay warm, give your pups an extra treat for me, and remember: winter is best faced with good stories, good company, and maybe a slightly overworked wood stove.
Happy reading,
K.T.
