Cozy Up With October Updates :)

Happy Fall!

Hi

I don’t know about you, but I love sweater weather! Not only is October beautiful, but it holds the promise of hot chocolate, cozy fires and the best reading (and writing) season of the year. I hope you’re looking forward to the next several months as well.

Writing Updates

I’m hard at work on Whispers of Retribution, book 2 in my Ragin’ Moon Refuge series. I’m about three quarters of the way in and hoping to have a book cover to share with you before too long. Caretaking for my elderly parents (not to mention three doggos!) has definitely thrown a monkey wrench into my schedule. But after four months, things are kinda sorta falling into a new normal, and I’m hoping for a December/January book launch. Here’s the teaser line to whet your appetite:

When justice turns personal, a juror becomes the target of retribution, and love becomes her only refuge.

New to my List?

If this is your first edition of my Dog-gone Short and Sweet Update—Welcome! I’m delighted you’re here. If you’d like to learn more about me and my books, you can do so right HERE.

October’s Book Recommendation

I was excited to recently discover author Laura Ashwood. Laura is a USA Today Bestselling Author who writes sweet romance and women’s fiction. A Little Something Sweet is the first book in her Caribou Falls series. It’s a clean and wholesome, small town romance about a bakery owner who falls for her annoyingly attractive contractor. If you’re a fan of Hallmark movies, I’m pretty sure you’ll love it. Just click on the cover to check out A Little Something Sweet.

Recent Reads

I’ve read two books this month that are worth a mention, but they couldn’t be more different from each other. The Happiest Girl in the World, by Alena Dillon is a sobering and powerful behind the scenes look at what it takes for a young gymnast to reach the Olympics. It’s a timely, eye-opening account and I was definitely affected by it.

For a more heartwarming story, I really enjoyed Every Breath, by Nicholas Sparks. Like most of his books, it’s both bittersweet and uplifting, but it has a satisfying (dare I say, happy) ending.

That’s it for this time. Have a wonderful rest of your October and I’ll “see” you next month 😀

K.T.
