Bookish Shenanigans for Fall

It looks like fall is on the way ready or not. Here in North Idaho it still feels more like summer, but a cool-down is scheduled to begin in the next few days. I don’t really mind. When my kiddos were young, September always signaled back to school, and along with it, a calmer, more structured routine. Even now that my hubby and I are empty nesters, I still love the beauty and slower pace of fall. How about you?
Writing Updates
Have you ever served on a jury? I’ve been selected twice. Once for a one day domestic violence case, and just last year, for a week long aggravated-assault trial. Although sobering, I have to admit I found both trials interesting and educational and learned quite a lot about the workings of the judicial system.
My experience is partly behind the plot of “Whispers of Retribution” book 2 in my Ragin’ Moon Refuge series. It’s about a young woman named Lydia who’s selected to serve on a medical malpractice trial and becomes the victim of juror intimidation. This is even more upsetting for Lydia than it would be for the average person since she had a traumatic experience with the judicial system as a child. It’s full of suspense, swoon worthy romance, a Great Dane named Maxwell, and of course … a happy ever after. I’ll keep you updated on my progress.
